Substitute teaching jobs in Minnesota

Teach Art, STEM, or Spanish with a collective that treats you like a professional. Curriculum provided, placements in your subject, owned by people who've done the job.

Why teach with MNEDU

Curriculum provided

You're never thrown into a room empty-handed. Every assignment comes with our ready-to-go, standards-aligned subject kit — walk in prepared on day one.

Teacher-owned respect

Pay, communication, and placement decisions are made by people who've done the job. You're a professional educator here, not a line in a staffing database.

Placed in your subject

Artists in art rooms. Makers in STEM labs. Spanish speakers in language classrooms — not wherever an algorithm has a gap.

No education degree? You may still qualify.

You need at least a Minnesota short-call substitute license — and if you hold a bachelor's degree in any field, you likely qualify. We walk every new specialist through the application. Practicing artists, engineers, and Spanish speakers without education degrees are exactly who we recruit: subject expertise is the hard part; the licensure path is more accessible than most people think.

Details on licensure and how placements work in our FAQ.

Who we're looking for

Daily assignments across the Twin Cities metro; long-term residencies statewide. Tell us your subject, availability, and licensure status — we'll take it from there.

Apply to teach

Email us your subject (Art, STEM, or Spanish), your availability, and your licensure status — licensed, in progress, or not yet started. A teacher reads every application and replies personally.
